was convinced to see this guy play a show out the back of a truck next to the bay on the site of a cement factory yesterday. possibly one of the better things i've seen/heard in the past couple of years. certain moments sounded like basic channel or fluxion-- crazy!!!

'Sky Drips Drifts' is sublime, as is 'Prism of Eternal Now', parts of that great big box thing are okay.

He is Adam Forkner if you didn't already know that.

eight months pass...

He's posted an album for free download via his myspace page (link above).
SUMMER BOOGIE BREEZERS. Sounds pretty damn good so far.

Gang Gang Sign (Waaaavvves Remix) (Beatrix Kiddo), Friday, 7 August 2009 19:56 (sixteen years ago)

Kranky, called New Clouds.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 7 August 2009 19:59 (sixteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

this is pretty good, but i cannot help but want the percussive bits somewhat higher in the mix.

I want to know what "Crunk" is. I want you to show me. (the table is the table), Monday, 24 August 2009 20:28 (sixteen years ago)

overall, though, this is pretty great.

I think I'll just sell all my albums that were made by men

Yeah, this is a fucking train wreck and a half. If there's a 'bright' side it's that I'm seeing widespread acceptance for this story instead of questioning.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 15 March 2016 20:42 (nine years ago)

oh damn

a passing spacecadet, Tuesday, 15 March 2016 20:52 (nine years ago)

Had good memories of this guy's music but ugh what a garbage person

has he addressed this? i heard his label dropped him?

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 17 March 2016 00:23 (nine years ago)

no he hasn't addressed it. I'm a little surprised no media outlets have covered this. I guess he isn't well known enough.

Captain Maximus, Thursday, 17 March 2016 00:49 (nine years ago)

yah people keeping quiet about this is seriously confusing me...

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 17 March 2016 21:03 (nine years ago)

also

White Rainbow was reportedly dropped from a scheduled gig at the Los Globos club in Silver Lake Wednesday night. Dublab radio, where Forkner hosts a monthly show, says they are cutting ties with the musician indefinitely.

Forkner did not reply to an email asking for comment.

the 'major tom guy' (sleeve), Thursday, 17 March 2016 21:23 (nine years ago)

oh shit I didn't realize he was in Yume Bitsu and Surface of Eceyon; I liked both of them. What a dick.

akm, Thursday, 17 March 2016 21:34 (nine years ago)

his wikipedia page is basically getting scrubbed daily by someone while people keep adding this detail in

akm, Friday, 18 March 2016 20:21 (nine years ago)

yeah this dude definitely needs a wikipedia page

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 18 March 2016 20:59 (nine years ago)

def important that the hub of the world's knowledge needs to know this marginal drone musician has a "dub-influenced band called We Like Cats with Honey Owens and Eva from Inca Ore. glad someone is out here defending that

Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 18 March 2016 21:00 (nine years ago)

a little shocked this guy hasn't been arrested yet but presumably he will be, if she has all these messages from him corroborating and confirming what he did

akm, Friday, 18 March 2016 23:09 (nine years ago)

never be shocked about cops not helping people in a timely manner.

kurt schwitterz, Friday, 18 March 2016 23:10 (nine years ago)

OTM

the 'major tom guy' (sleeve), Friday, 18 March 2016 23:17 (nine years ago)

Very scary situation that from what I can tell, with this Portland Mercury article, keeps escalating. I hope she can find somewhere safe to be, as soon as possible. The House of Ruth can usually help. She needs to be somewhere where he can't find her. Now.

Yes, the real outrage here is that this guy has a Wikipedia page (a page that might prove helpful if one was trying to write about this guy and these charges)

Your Ribs are My Ladder, Sunday, 27 March 2016 16:52 (nine years ago)

Wikipedia: the hub of the world's knowledge.

spastic heritage, Sunday, 27 March 2016 19:54 (nine years ago)

any actual updates on this? I notice he himself has not posted a single thing; is he in hiding? is he being investigated?

akm, Monday, 28 March 2016 17:21 (nine years ago)

i hear the lesser charge of naming his band "white rainbow" has been dropped fwiw
