Since record players lack a remote control and you have to turn the record over in order to hear the rest of the music... are you more critical of your vinyl than of your CD's?

i think i pay more attention to it at least since my record player doesn't automatically stop when a side is finished, so i guess i'm aware of what's playing a little more at least.

Not due to having to turn the record over, no, but because I'm in the habit of ripping (rare) vinyl to my computer, I can be very critical of it because ripping is a tedious process no matter how good the record is.

I think I'm maybe less critical just because if it's a good-looking record I already kinda love it.

Very critical of vinyl, mostly for the reason mentioned by Bimble. I rip a lot of it to digital, and that entails close listening/defect noticing.

What John said -- vinyl is just way more likely to be an object worthy of festishizing, hence easier to cut slack. Plus, CDs are longer, and way harder to get through (since with albums you only have to get through one side at a time, and the sides are a fraction of most CDs' length), therefore more work.
Least critical of vinyl EPs, probably. Same reasons.

My Shellac 7" singles are maybe my favourite possession.

What do you mean by "critical"?

When my records act out in school, it's a shock and a disappointment. When I hear about the CDs cutting class, though, it's more "boys will be boys" ya know?
