Listening now and the first track is kicking my ass big-style.
― Just got offed, Saturday, 26 July 2008 16:53 (seventeen years ago)
What do you think of the rest of it?
― Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 26 July 2008 18:43 (seventeen years ago)
Obviously he enjoyed it so much it knocked him out literally. (Or he's writing a 100,000 word dissertation on how Oceansize or Youthmovies made the best UK Rock Music this year.)

I wonder if that 10 lp Box Set of all the Esoteric albums will ever come out.
― Herman G. Neuname, Monday, 28 July 2008 15:40 (seventeen years ago)
So did anyone else ever pick this up?

This album is pretty awesome, if incredibly depressing to the point where I'm not sure how often I'll pull it out. But when I do pull it out, it's great.
― An American Werewolf in London Calling (J3ff T.), Friday, 17 October 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
Is it in your top albums of the year list?
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 October 2008 19:12 (seventeen years ago)
This album is some genuine cosmic horror shit. Still haven't made it to disc 2.
― ChuckStewart(no relation) (BigLurks), Friday, 17 October 2008 20:11 (seventeen years ago)
1st track is so good sometimes I gotta play it again before i make it onto the rest of the album.
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 October 2008 20:13 (seventeen years ago)
I'm afraid it's gonna suck me into the artwork.
― ChuckStewart(no relation) (BigLurks), Friday, 17 October 2008 20:15 (seventeen years ago)
Cthulthu is watching, BL!

2 months later and LJ still hasn't got to the rest of the cd? ;)
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 October 2008 20:24 (seventeen years ago)
It's just so uh moresome
― 100 tons of hardrofl beyond zings (Just got offed), Friday, 17 October 2008 20:26 (seventeen years ago)
J3ff- Cthulu's watching is coming from inside my eyes.
For a second I thought HGM was accusing me of being an LJ sock puppet.
Anyway, isn't the pre-Subconcious Dissolution... stuff supposed to a lot different? What's it like? I'm imagining it as sounding like the Dead C as envisioned by a heavy metal Alejandro Jodorowsky, all drugged out lo-fi surreal wtf-ness. Worth tracking down?
― ChuckStewart(no relation) (BigLurks), Friday, 17 October 2008 21:04 (seventeen years ago)
"a heavy metal Alejandro Jodorowsky, all drugged out lo-fi surreal wtf-ness." If you can track that down, color me sold.
― Soukesian, Friday, 17 October 2008 21:30 (seventeen years ago)
i liked the glasvegas album a lot the first time i heard it. it hasnt held up as well to repeat listens, though.
― Kevin Keller, Friday, 17 October 2008 21:37 (seventeen years ago)
"silence" is pretty damn good too, it's probably the best opening track (albeit of side 2) called "silence" released this year
― 100 tons of hardrofl beyond zings (Just got offed), Friday, 17 October 2008 21:44 (seventeen years ago)
I've decided this is my album of the year. Still haven't got bored with it. Much better than the overrated Metallica album and it's a pity Esoteric will be ignored by Kerrang for that in end of year polls.
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 14 November 2008 18:17 (seventeen years ago)
Scott did you ever get this? You would love it I'm sure. I even got Jeff into it!
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 14 November 2008 18:40 (seventeen years ago)
I finally got a used copy of this from AQ and I must say I really like it. A lot more than anything else I've heard by them.
― disco balls (rockapads), Saturday, 15 November 2008 00:53 (seventeen years ago)
Awesome. Glad you like it. I really wish more people would check it out.
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 15 November 2008 00:56 (seventeen years ago)
I like it a lot too - a couple of tracks are really monstrous.
― Marco Damiani, Sunday, 16 November 2008 14:13 (seventeen years ago)
In my heart of hearts I know I'll never truly get beyond the first track. "Circle" must be some kind of all-time high for this sort of music.
― baby got bahn (country matters), Thursday, 25 December 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)
I still haven't heard this. Sorry, Kerr. I will.
― grimly fiendish, Thursday, 25 December 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)
Damn you.
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 26 December 2008 00:08 (seventeen years ago)
Quickening is a wonderful track too. The whole album is brilliant. Glad to see it made the Terrorizer list.
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 1 January 2009 00:19 (seventeen years ago)
Love this
Just got a copy of Metamorphogenesis today - am I going to be disappointed?

no
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 6 December 2010 02:25 (fifteen years ago)
yeah srsly 'Circle' is one of the killingest metal songs ever written. wonder if there's anything else that's comparable
― imago, Thursday, 20 February 2014 21:30 (twelve years ago)
Somehow let this lot pass me by. 'Circle' has absolutely killed me today. What a band.
