Anyone else read this fascinating book? It's part social anthropology, part diary of a struggling band.

This sounds great. I have heard exactly one False Prophets song, on an old Alternative Tentacles comp, and it was like hardcore meets Jethro Tull. I also had no idea that there was a shared membership between them and the Fugs (ie this guy). I'm gonna try and get this. Thanks moley!

One of False Prophets was in the Fugs?? Woah.
The Alt Tentacles CD Blind Roaches & Fat Vultures is a great round up of their early stuff - definitely worth getting. Although I like the version of Taxidermist on New York Thrash better than the album version.
