I'm pretty sure that this late eighties' DC band was pretty great. Hyperactive drumming, interesting guitar-playing. Have they just gotten lost among the shuffle, or what?

didn't the dudes end up being girls vs. boys?
anyway i remember liking them. have no idea what they'd sound like now.

Yeah, they did.
I liked 'em back then. I was surprised to discover recently how much I still like them.
Never cared much for GVSB though.

I mean, I think the rhythm section was really tight at times, and Scott's guitar playing was really compelling, especially by the time of the last LP. Bobby Sullivan's growl is sweet, too.

Their s/t was decent. was it? some soulside was good shit. Obv not that gre\at. Preferred Swizz
― Fer Ark, Thursday, 31 July 2008 22:26 (seventeen years ago)
Oh geez, you're one of those people?
Ha, I just remember one of the Swiz dudes complaining in some interview about how Rites of Spring and associated bands were part of some "art fag" scene, and that's always bugged me

I fuck with Swiz a lot more readily than Soulside. Hold on. It's like:
GVSB > Swiz > Bluetip > Soulside
