doomie, stop starting so many threads at once.......i don't know what or who has given you so much confidence today but tell them to cut it out.......techno animal is alright, a bit unfocused for my tastes, but alright.

people can ignore them if they want. the remixes of primal scream and jsbx are brilliant.

Sorta been around too long to be called the new MBV, I'd think. The last album I heard that fully captured a blissout feeling without specifically trying to sound like MBV was probably Cumulus Mood Twang by Flowchart (though as noted elsewhere the Avalanches count for something on a few songs).

For me 'the new MBV' has to complete galvanize a number of different strands into a song or album so epochal that my perceptions of what music can do are changed forever. Doesn't have to sound like MBV -- I just want that sense of new vistas.

people who know my bloody valentine have made that observation. they have changed ... i watched them dj. it's insanity.

doomie, it's like this.....some people put in a lot of time and thought before they post a frontpage thread, and when you post 20 of these cookie cutter "band x: what up?" it knocks them all off......well let me be straight, the only reasons i'm not aggressively clowning you and that robot alex in mainhattan right now are: 1. it's sunny and I want to leave 2. it would be endless 3. you two wouldn't even know you were being dissed. BYE

errr....try some ritalin?

Ned, if I was in a band conquering 'new vistas', it would be selling us short to compare us to any band in that way. After all, saying anyone is 'the new x' is a pretty backhanded compliment.

yes, yer right. it is a backhanded compliment, maybe, summoning up the sonic experimentation of my bloody valentine? i really don't know anyone par kevin shields who are donig what he has done via soundscapes.

Oh, granted. My use of the term was to try and compare the effect MBV had on me rather than the specific sound of the band. As it is, MBV obviously had their roots with the likes of Brian Wilson and Sonic Youth and all, so any future 'MBV,' whoever or whatever they are, will have their roots resulting in their own unique syntheses.

The new double album by Belgian band Kohn is being compared to Loveless (by Forced Exposure). Of course I can't be bothered since it's a local band. I rather listen to Blink 182 and Kenny G.
