Fiona Apple's [i]Tidal[/i]: C or D?

the least of her albums but 'criminal' sounds even more classic now than when it came out

I listened to it quite a lot when it came out. I remember hearing it a lot in hipster dives and cafes in Austin along the usual MC5 and ATDI and stuff.

Hey, the lyrics are like Sub-Jewel at points but srsly, is why is that a bad thing... It all works, very affecting.

shadowboxer is definitely a masterpiece

even tho the masterpiece title surely goes to never is a promise, probably the best teen ballad tearjerker of my time

it is. carrion is actually a highlight for me. that dusty shuffling beat and her cooing.

it kind of encapsulates the mood. beautiful.

"Criminal" always reminds me of John Lennon's self-loathing songs. The melody, the lyrics, the hammering piano. Very classic. Could be covered to interesting effect.
