This is one of those acts where some of the music might actually be pretty good but both the interviewer and the artist are jumping up and down and going "look it's so crazy!" in a really offputting way.

The name itself may not mean much. In her own words, "it's like [the Pokemon character] Pikachu, it's that simple."
I like this because it reminds me of when Alan Partridge is talking to the racing driver about the sponsors on the car in The Day Today.
I quite admire Matthew Herbert in a distant sort of way but his music taste seems a shade suspect. Not expecting to like this based on that piece

it may well be that Partch is the prime influence on Mikachu's music. Many of his pieces were no longer than pop songs. As a creator of custom-made instruments, he should also take responsibility for Mikachu's notorious vacuum-cleaner solos
