Mixing practice

I've recently started DJing at an event in London that takes places once a month. My selection of records is, of course, stunningly good, but at the moment, as a novice amateur, all I do is play tracks back-to-back, i.e. little or no mixing, just ensuring that there are no silences. Does anyone know if it's possible to practise DJing technique anywhere, like, say, a studio one can hire out for an hour or whatever?

Buy a mixer, dude. They can be quite cheap, you can practise as much as you want, etc.

At the side in certain branches of HMV. When the kids in the Helly Hanson jackets have moved away.
