The new One Day As A Lion song "Last Letter" is really good! Even though Zach De La Rocha's vocals still fall in the clumsy cartoon monster category in the verses, when he tries to melodically sing, he sounds a bit like Perry Ferrell in his better moments. The best part of the song is the instrumentation -- it sounds like early DAF! So, go former Mars Volta guy or something!
There's nothing groundbreaking or all amazing about "Last Letter" but it does clearly show that Zach was the least of Rage Against The Machine's problems IMHO -- then again, any listen to Inside Out (Zach's first band in the late 80s/early 90s) would clarify that too.
My faith in Zach was really shaky, though, between now and his collab with DJ Shadow.

I haven't heard "Last Letter," just the single that radio's been playing, "Wild International," but I like it, cool noisy synth shit.
