Some guy from Denmark who saw my blog sent me this song hoping I could tell him who it was. I don't have a clue. But it's British. Please help. Please.

Here's another link if the old one doesn't work for you

Want to help out Bimble . but am not privy. Followed the links and all. is it The Lurkers?
― Fer Ark, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:08 (seventeen years ago)
The voice is very familiar and I'm sure I'm going to kick myself when someone does get it. Def. not The Lurkers 'though.
― Stewart Osborne, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:14 (seventeen years ago)
Stewart - you must have a supercharged pC? I hit dead ends. As per fking usual. If not The Lurkers , who do not probably count as post punk, could it be the Anti Nowhere League? Their earlier demos were in 19/156 timing
― Fer Ark, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:23 (seventeen years ago)
Nope, def. not the Anti Nowhere League either.
― Stewart Osborne, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:24 (seventeen years ago)
I want to say The Shapes, but I don't think it is.

any good?
― Fer Ark, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:27 (seventeen years ago)
Great stuff, but it's not Terry & The Idiots either (quite apart from anything else I'm pretty sure they never made it as far as recording studio!).
― Stewart Osborne, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:41 (seventeen years ago)
That's a hilarious Terry & The Idiots video, man! I've never even heard of them before. But Stewart is right there's no way it's the same band as this song I've posted.

Something about that song makes me want to trawl through the Attrix Records back catalogue and their Vaultage '78 / '79 / '80 comps....
― Stewart Osborne, Sunday, 24 August 2008 23:53 (seventeen years ago)
Hahah! Yeah I've seen those Vaultage comps! There was that one band that started with "V" that were really good on that. Okay I found it in my book here, Vandells "Bank Holiday". That was the best thing on that. That was the '79 one. I don't think I ever had Vaultage '80 unfortunately. The '78 one doesn't particularly interest me. Pirhanas were okay.
I've got a good friend here in town from Brighton. He doesn't know any of these bands, though. :)
If anyone wants to send me Vaultage '80, please do so. Thanx.

I don't think this song is from Vaultage 78 or 79, I don't have 80 so dunno about that one. Can't help you with this one I'm afraid.

Weirdly, Malcolm Joseph, the bass player from Terry and the Idiots is in Grace Jones band these days.

Had a listen last night...
Initial impression: Is it "The Passage"?
The singing reminds me of "XOYO", will have to have a better listen later.

Something about the singing reminded me strangely of The Damned
― Stewart Osborne, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 09:30 (seventeen years ago)
Bimble is my boyfriend.
― Turangalila, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 09:50 (seventeen years ago)
Hahahahha! You are bloody right, honey! You are my boyfriend. I'm so flattered. Holy hell.
