The stickman from the hilarious "xkcd" comics, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:26 (seventeen years ago)

Not a big fan, Ching Ching and Say It Right are both good.

chap, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:39 (seventeen years ago)

"Powerless" for me, just ahead of "I'm Like A Bird." She was so much better as an earnest granola Canadian than as a disingenuous Iovine-powered dance pop vixen.

some dude, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:08 (seventeen years ago)

She looks terrible in that photo. Anyway, for me it's Timbaland's stuff by a mile, but I can't decide between "Promiscuous" "Maneater" and "Say It Right".

daavid, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:13 (seventeen years ago)

Maneater easy.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:22 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, I don't know why Dom Passantino would've posted such an unflattering photo of a famous woman.

some dude, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:24 (seventeen years ago)

Absolutely OTM for me. Timbaland's remix of "Turn Out The Light" is my favorite, but I'm a big fan of those first three singles up-top there.

Eazy, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:47 (seventeen years ago)

"Promiscuous" for me. "Powerless" is mad underrated tho.

The Reverend, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:52 (seventeen years ago)

I think she's fairly unconvincing as either, but the pop vixen has way better tunes.

chap, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:56 (seventeen years ago)

ching ching kind of a guest spot.

special guest stars mark bronson, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

lol WTF is that outfit

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:59 (seventeen years ago)

In 2000-2001, she was a good alternative to Britney & Co. Now that she's a pure dance-pop vixen, though, I'd rather hear "Piece of Me".

Eazy, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:00 (seventeen years ago)

'no hay igual' which has been incompetently left off the poll

lex pretend, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

'say it right', of the ones here. isn't it time for new furtado material, anyway?

lex pretend, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:11 (seventeen years ago)

also her weird patented sucking-lemons smirk really bugs me, even when she's looking good she does it. of all the camera faces you could pull why that??

lex pretend, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:12 (seventeen years ago)

say it right!!

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

I'm repping for the earth mother period rather than her "What testosterone imabalanced closet case Timbaland imagines a sexy woman might be like" period, so "Turn Off The Light"

The stickman from the hilarious "xkcd" comics, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:45 (seventeen years ago)

Promiscuous

that's her mum in the photo tho yeah?

blueski, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)

"Powerless" or "Try".

DavidM, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:09 (seventeen years ago)

i love 'turn off the light' too.

Frogman Henry, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

I like a lot of the early singles, but it's still "Say It Right."

Tape Store, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:21 (seventeen years ago)

OK, I'll vote "Say It Right".

daavid, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:27 (seventeen years ago)

promiscuous. not in love with the chorus to say it right

tremendoid, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:38 (seventeen years ago)

It's all about the mid-period, banjo years for me. Went with "Powerless".

DavidM, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:44 (seventeen years ago)

I liked her better as a brunette than as a, well, brasshead??? As the hair goes, so goes my nation. I vote "I'm Like a Bird".

deusner, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 22:06 (seventeen years ago)

If "Glow" was a single, that'd be it. As it is, "Maneater" just ahead of "Turn Off the Light".

maciej recognizing trill, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 22:22 (seventeen years ago)

Ching Ching. Promiscuous 2nd.

Raw Patrick, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 22:24 (seventeen years ago)

I was listening to Regina Spektor's Begin to Hope today and realized that this is pretty much a successor to those first two Furtado records, as far as mixing singer-songerwriter, orchestral pop, and dance styles.

Eazy, Thursday, 28 August 2008 03:41 (seventeen years ago)

also going w/ "say it right", which i liked even more once i realized it's basically the same song as "self control"

impudent harlot, Thursday, 28 August 2008 03:57 (seventeen years ago)

also i can't recall any of the tracks between "ching ching" and "promiscuous"!

impudent harlot, Thursday, 28 August 2008 03:58 (seventeen years ago)

I've never heard of any of those besides "Powerless," I assumed they charted only in Canada or something.

some dude, Thursday, 28 August 2008 04:09 (seventeen years ago)

Do It.

???

daavid, Thursday, 28 August 2008 04:31 (seventeen years ago)

"Maneater," easily. Her most unusual, dissonant single. Awesome vocal harmonies, too.

Turangalila, Thursday, 28 August 2008 05:50 (seventeen years ago)

"Promiscuous" over "Like A Bird"

milo z, Thursday, 28 August 2008 05:53 (seventeen years ago)

Say It Right. Eerie.

SeekAltRoute, Thursday, 28 August 2008 06:12 (seventeen years ago)

i hated that song btw

'say it right' was also huge & that was a great tune

deeznuts, Thursday, 28 August 2008 06:17 (seventeen years ago)

"TUrn Off The Light" ahead of "Maneater". "Explode" is great too, didn't even know it was a single.

a) I was responding to imprudent harlot's post about not recalling any of the tracks after "Ching Ching" or before "Promiscuous," of course we've all heard "Promiscuous" itself, and b) the previous poll was for one of her albums, not her singles discography: nelly furtado LOOSE poll

some dude, Thursday, 28 August 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)

I listened to Whoa, Nelly! in its entirety this morning, and it holds up really well. Good songwriting, good Track & Field production.

Eazy, Thursday, 28 August 2008 16:42 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.
