Nelly Furtado singles poll

Not a big fan, Ching Ching and Say It Right are both good.

"Powerless" for me, just ahead of "I'm Like A Bird." She was so much better as an earnest granola Canadian than as a disingenuous Iovine-powered dance pop vixen.

She looks terrible in that photo. Anyway, for me it's Timbaland's stuff by a mile, but I can't decide between "Promiscuous" "Maneater" and "Say It Right".

Absolutely OTM for me. Timbaland's remix of "Turn Out The Light" is my favorite, but I'm a big fan of those first three singles up-top there.

I think she's fairly unconvincing as either, but the pop vixen has way better tunes.

In 2000-2001, she was a good alternative to Britney & Co. Now that she's a pure dance-pop vixen, though, I'd rather hear "Piece of Me".

I was listening to Regina Spektor's Begin to Hope today and realized that this is pretty much a successor to those first two Furtado records, as far as mixing singer-songerwriter, orchestral pop, and dance styles.

a) I was responding to imprudent harlot's post about not recalling any of the tracks after "Ching Ching" or before "Promiscuous," of course we've all heard "Promiscuous" itself, and b) the previous poll was for one of her albums, not her singles discography: nelly furtado LOOSE poll

I listened to Whoa, Nelly! in its entirety this morning, and it holds up really well. Good songwriting, good Track & Field production.
