anybody else on this? it has assorted restrictions that make it more annoying than muxtape, but otoh so far i haven't run into the bugginess that was a persistent mux feature. and the fact that you can't see the playlist all at once (one of the concessions to legal compliance) does give it a little more mystique, i guess.

i did one here. one thing i haven't figured out yet is whether you can do more than one, or if you have to keep replacing the 8 songs.

You can do more than one, I have two alive right now. Though I've promised myself I'm just going to rotate through those two.

Let's try that link again

Okay, here's my new mix of experimental/minimal German techno from 1994-98. It's similar to the one I did in Muxtape, but the tracklisting is totally different now:
1. Gas: "Klang"2. Nonplace Urban Field: "Nuf Luf"3. Susanne Brokesch: "Track2part2"4. Khan and Walker: "31m 9500 - 9900 kHz"5. Emmanuel Top: "Spherique"6. Async Sense: "Afrophil"7. Marusha: "Merlin"8. Salz: "Salz"9. Air Liquide: "Twice Zero is Zero"10. 4E: "Warm Leatherette"11. The Bionaut "4 Letter Words in Mixed Company"

Is there any way to make the tracks not play in random order?
― Tuomas, Friday, 12 September 2008 10:22 (sixteen years ago)
they play for me in the order i programmed them. are yours coming up random?
― tipsy mothra, Friday, 12 September 2008 13:59 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah. Whenever I play some other mix, the tunes always come in the same order, but when I play my own they come in random order.
― Tuomas, Monday, 15 September 2008 15:16 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, it always randomizes for me, too.

I hate that you can't preview the tracklist before you listen:
Apologies for the inconvenience, but our music license requires us to limit the number of tracks you may skip each hour.

Anyone like lala.com? I've been toying with it for a few weeks and I feel like it strikes a good balance between the "music wants to be free" and the "musicians still deserve to get paid for their work" crowds.

i think i like 8tracks as much for the pictures you can put up as anything else.
new quasi-seasonal mix. on the mellower side, i guess. vijay iver, nels cline, cymande, booker t., country joe, etc.

Does anyone on this board use this anymore? I recently started getting back on it after a long break from it.
I'm digging it the most as far as compilations, plus it is free. I think I like it better than last.fm and Pandora or Grooveshark.
I've not tried out Spotify.
What do people think of its (not so?) new incarnation?
We should share people's profiles we like (or our own)!
