Bands that Could/Should have been on PROJEKT records

I love Projekt so much that I want to buy atleast one album by each of the bands on the above list, I've listened to 13 of the bands, I especially love Lycia and Trance to the Sun.
And I'd like to hear anything you think could have been on this label. I think Sam Rosenthal would have liked to have signed Cranes, Miranda Sex Garden, Dead Can Dance and Slowdive,,, but I'm sure your suggestions are going to be more obscure than that.

any band on C'Est La Morte. Sam remedied this with some of the Projekt: Archive releases (like Judgement of Paris).
i don't know how Collection d'Arnell-Andrea avoided being signed or distributed by Projekt.

Legendary Pink Dots should have had a reissue or two on this label it seems, but they didn't.

Haha, I should forward this link to Sam for his amusement.

Project/Archive should pick up some of the Nate Starkman & Sons/Fundamental bands. i've tracked down the CDs at great expense, and they've always been worth the effort. a lot of this music - Red Temple Spirits, Drowning Pool, Liquid Faeries, Abecedarians, 17 Pygmies, Fourwaycross, Shiva Burlesque, etc - is up there with the absolute best goth-y postpunk of its day and really deserves to be more widely heard. and now that IPR no longer exists(?), Sam's the last keeper of the flame.

the Rise and Fall of a Decade catalog, too. and Sleeping Dogs Wake. eh, but Hyperium/Projekt were always so sisterly in their operations that this might be redundant.

I'm trying to remember if I suggested that to him. I know I recommended a couple of reissue ideas here and there.

I'm mostly over my darkwave phase but if anyone can find me some stuff that's as good as Lycia I'd be all over it

You're about nothing but sunshine pop now, SELLOUT.

Lycia has to have a slew of black metal devotees at this point if they don't already.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 15 September 2008 05:51 (seventeen years ago)

xasthur did a lycia cover, didn't he?

two weeks pass...

I already mentioned I loved Trance to the Sun. Is there any chance that the recent Projekt compilation is preparing fans for reissues of the actual albums??? Because some of them are getting rare and expensive. I have Delirious and Vemonous Eve so far and some of the others might be harder to get.

Is IPR a label, I cant find anything about them.

I love the sound of Rise and Fall of a Decade, too bad that guy died a while ago.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Sunday, 12 October 2008 03:56 (seventeen years ago)

IPR = Independent Project Records, and they were very much a label.

Mr Hal Jam, I dont know if you are a regular or if you will see this but I came back to thank you for introducing me to Rise And Fall Of A Decade, they are one my all time favorite bands now, I have all their stuff aside from the live album and a handful of tracks. THANKYOU so much, I could kiss you. I rarely see them mentioned in dreampop/ethereal/shoegazing circles, I might've discovered them eventually through the Rateyourmusic Etherealwave list but not soon enough.
