'A drummer who wants to be a machine' - the greatest drummer ever, Alan Myers of Devo, WAS a machine

alan myers YEAH dq!

doktor avalanche was guilty of being involved in far worse albums (what's a machine to do)

The drum solo in The Temple of Love is Doktor Avalanche's finest moment. A wild man of rock is the venerable doctor.

Doktor Avalanche rocks my world. Also, Sisters of Mercy > Tackhead.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

BRIAN MACDONALD TO THREAD! Though if you're talking that one Tackhead major label travesty, he'll freely agree.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Einstein" is grate

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"No Sell Out" is also GRATE. Was LeBlanc the drummer on "Hard Left"?

Sean Carruthers, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Sisters of Mercy > Tackhead"? Dan....do.... you... want...a...f-f- f-f-f-f-f-f-FITE?!

Brian MacDonald, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Be careful what you ask for, Brian. Don't sleep on the awesome power of the blinggoth. Anyway, I never said Tackhead was bad!

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

If I'm allowed to include Mark Stewart here, there's a neutron star worth of creepiness in one Mark Stewart + Maffia song than the Gnome of Darkness's entire career... which doesn't mean either's bad... but be wary of flagrantly attaching a "greater than" sign over Tackhead and related projects in MY presence, ya dig MU'FUCKA?

Brian MacDonald, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

*adopts Excited Monkey stance* I'm not warning you again...

I really shouldn't judge, anyway; the last time I heard a Tackhed track, I was 16. I remember liking it a lot but preferring SPK and Severed Heads.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

eight years pass...

I just picked up "Wooly Reasonable & Yo Culture - You're the Only One" for £1

it's kind of incredible
