I kind of love the cover, because all his other album covers (a couple in particular) are all like "Aw yeah, you know you want all this man." And this is like, "I'm old now. So fucking what."

And oh yeah, it's also an excellent record.

No grime input as per my recommendations. It's a disgrace.

the LP title is so clearly a two-fingered salute to those who urged, nay, mandated that he at long last embrace grime, in all it's grimey goodness...

I'm liking it a heck of a lot. There's bits when the production is sparse where his voice seems a bit spikier than need be (there's something about "Time Precious Time" that bugs me -- his pitch seems at odds with the rest of the music).

That said, love love love "Did you Miss Me" and "Love Runs Deeper" for the lushness and the energy. It's like soaking in some of my favourite old-school Mac moments, though maybe the soak is a bit less relaxing. Needs more bubble bath I guess.

Oh, and while I was expecting to cringe at the title track, it was one of the best things on the album.

I think the biggest problem with it is that it's too long. Cut it to a nice pop-length 3 1/2 minutes and it's great.

"Did You Miss Me" is my favorite song too, but the rest is too static, even the ones with McVie-Fleetwood.

I dug some collection of songs on Soulseek that seems really recent, has a few tracks off the new album, and some excellent covers. Good shit.

Yeah, Gift of Screws has been floating around in demo form for many years. Some of the songs ended up on Mac's Say You Will and more ended up on Buckingham's 2006 album. This is almost completely new material.

I heard "Steal Your Heart Away" on a Best Buy music sampler in '98; it was the same version later found on SYW.

So... is this on anyone else's year-end list?

It will be on my list, but I bought like 3 new releases this year, so I don't think it really counts...
