Luke Haines = Giorgio Moroder

Listening: Giorgio Moroder -- Knights in White Satin

Thinking: Luke Haines has based his entire singing career on Moroder's voice. Luke has nicked his hoarse growl from the Ortisei Machine.

Apologies if this is common knowledge.

Or, should Luke Haines grow a thick moustache? Methinks he'd look like Steve Zahn.

You have succeeded in calling up a truly frightening image to my brain. I congratulate you, now don't do it again.

Who is Luke Haines?

Pommy Indie God.A balding albino genius who fronts The Auteurs/Black Box Recorder. He's one fucked up unit judging by the time I saw him at Lon School Economics 99. Surprised hes still alive actually.

You'll probably never read this, Mister "Andy K," but when I originally read this thread, I went straight to Audiogalaxy and queued the Moroder track you mentioned, then promptly forgot about it.

'Course, all my Audiogalaxy downloads get automatically added to my iPod playlist, so I was taken by surprise about five minutes ago when Knights In White Satin was piped into my ears and I thought: "Hello! When did Luke Haines cover this tune??"

uh, just thought you'd like to know.
