does anyone have the numbers? i can't find them on google. i have to give a persuasive speech that jay-z is far superior to nas. my premis is that he is nicer, except to african girls, and that he is way more heterosexual. With the numbers I want to make a graph. respond more quickly. !

aside from finding your premise faulty ("he is way more heterosexual"- -uh, SO FUCKING WHAT?--and "he is nicer"--uh, how?), a quick look at RIAA.com finds these numbers:

Nas has three platinum albums (Illmatic, Nastradamus and Stillmatic) and two double-platinum (I Am and It Was Written).
Jay-Z has three platinum albums (Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime: Vol. 1 and The Blueprint), one double-platinum (The Dynasty: Roc La Familia), one triple-platinum (Vol. 3: Life and Times of S. Carter) and one quintuple-platinum (Hard Knock Life: In My Lifetime Vol. 2).

therefore, Jay-Z wins on sales.

Everyone knows that Jay-Z's nickname is Gay-Z anyhow, where the hell are you getting the idea that he's way heterosexual and stuff? Being gay is the new thing in rap.

Which one samples "Everybody wants to rule the World" by Tears for Fears on their new one? Whoever that one is, they're the winner, it's a great track.

the TFF sample would be Nas, and uh, no. Jay could do a whole album of Broadway samples and it still wouldn't be as, uh, gay as that track.

Precisely why Nas wins.

three years pass...
Just listen to Ether . . . undeniably, Nas tore Jay-Z to shreds. Both of them are extremely talented, but moving away from how commercial a rapper can be (i.e. record sales), Nas undoubtedly takes the cake. Any true hip hop fan would agree with me, and if you don't, you're either a moron or you don't know shit about hip hop.
