I fancy them both.

I find them both rather enjoyable as well. I'm wondering why take on me was there only number one hit. I like a majority of A-Ha's material. I also like a majority of KOC as well. So, its a tough decision.

oops, grammatical error. thats "their".

Neither. David Shire's instrumental, as found on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Absolute scoring brilliance.

Manhattan Skyline by A-ha always struck me as one of the genuinely wierdest pieces of music i've ever heard. Pretty much because it was not knowingly wierd, like those Fall tracks called "n-Grg McFreight 64", but the genuine product of a brainwierd. Mind you it did come from the same album as the immortal lyric "Maybe it was over / when you chucked me out of the Rover / at full speed".

where's Ned when we need him?

haven't heard KoC. assume it's not a cover. a-ha's Manhattan Skyline is still one of my favourite tunes ever. i prefer sun always shines, but Manhattan Skyline has the more intriguing sentiment/lyric.

I have been summoned, I have. Not heard the KoC one either -- the original is a weird blend of restrained beauty, that bizarre first part of the chorus where everything is harsh and grinding, and then the second part where it's just gorgeous, vocal performance of pure beauty right there. Very strange song, very enjoyable. But my favorite on the album remains "The Swing of Things."

KOC's version is a cover and its done quite good I must say.

You know what's weird? I saw the new a-ha album on the rack at the store, and I immediately thought, "Oh, Ned will be so happy." How weird is that?

_Scoundrel Days_ is such a great album! "Manhattan Skyline", "Maybe Maybe", "Cry Wolf", "Soft Rains Of April", "Looking For The Whales", "The Swing Of Things"... *swoon*

Not to mention the title track itself -- actually, *there's* your sequencing brilliance, starting the album with that, then "The Swing of Things." Why, I even say as much here , which might perhaps explain Sean's random thought. ;-)

I just found a live and acoustic version of "Hunting High and Low", Im very interested to hear it.
