has anyone picked this up? the post left banke record for michael brown released on the same label as the wcpaeb reissues which is being raved over although mike doesn't appear on the record apparently. anyone heard it? like it? thoughts?

Bought it a few months ago, listened to it a couple times, really liked it, filed it away, forgot about it until now.

it's very very good. almost as good as the left banke, although the singer on Montage hits one or two flat notes. Same type of string arrangments, a beautiful, pannicky, stripped down version of Desiree with stabbing strings on the off-beat which Tahiti 80 copy note for note, nuance for nuance, production quirks and all in their live shows, the fucking total morons.

What else? some bad lyrics. a silly, jaunty song about nuclear war (wake up jimmy). I think Michael does play piano on it. The first song (Mary) is fantastic. About a million times better than the Stories. Buy it.
