So, I'm playing the hit compilation "ILX has a bucket" via the WMP, and watching the psychedelic patterns...
and it's like it really understands the music!

OK, so it only does that in the question now?
WMP give you a case of apostrohhea?

Nah, I was puzzled by the bonkers apos business in the question, and was trying to see why it did it.
It seems the 'question' dialogue box and the 'add a post' have different coding to them.
Still, swirly effects! Rotating stars! coasting/surfing blips! Wow....

LOL...yeah that's the only thing good I can say about Windows Media Player is all the trippy swirly stuff. A good friend of mine did a really slowed-down Spacemen 3 type track and he played it for me in WMP and the visuals complemented it perfectly. That said, I normally use Winamp instead.
― Bimble, Friday, 26 September 2008 16:03 (seventeen years ago)
Isn't the visualizer in WinAmp just as good? I think it's better, because you can write your own visualisations in a mini visual IDE.One thing to be said for WMP, if you make your own MP3s, is that if they play in WMP, they'll play in anything.
― snoball, Friday, 26 September 2008 16:46 (seventeen years ago)
I didn't know WinAmp had a visualizer, to be honest!
― Bimble, Friday, 26 September 2008 16:47 (seventeen years ago)
I use WMP and I'm happy w/it. I also watch the visualizations.

So, like, I'm all old and stuff and I'm digital audio illiterate and I use WMP because that's what the computer came with. So this week I've been on a major Squeeze binge (live at Radio City, 6 songs from Cool for Cats OK but only 3 from East Side Story WTF?!), and so I just ripped all my Squeeze into the computer. And I've got 2 "Some Fantastic Place" CD singles with 3 different b-sides on each, but when I rip them, not only does WMP think they are the same disc, but ripping one of them erases the other one from the computer! Even if I rename the CD and song titles! So WMP is pissing me off!
But I will defend the indefensible by excerpting the above:
"...I use WMP...!"

i use wmp too. never got the hang of winamp and iTunes eats up memory.

Bimble, click on "View", then "Visualisations". Or hold down Ctrl-Shift-K (on a PC anyway). Right click in the Visualizer window and select "AVS Editor" to get the mini-IDE programmer thingy.

Yeah actually I figured it out on my own, thanks snoball! Now I can have trippy visualizations and Winamp too! :) Life is too good.

Well, I prefer Media Player Classic. Keeping it simple is often the best thing.

iTunes = WORST PIECE OF SOFTWARE EVER
― Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 27 September 2008 23:37 (seventeen years ago)
media player classic is ok for vids.
