Film music to "Circus Boys"

Anyone here seen the Japanese film "Circus Boys"?

This has got to be my all-time favourite movie soundtrack. But I've never been able to find it on CD / Morpheus etc. Anyone know who wrote it? Where it can be acquired? phil

I remember that film. Don't remember the music though. What's it like? I'd be surprised if there was ever a soundtrack released.

There's a big tune. A kind of lovely, jazzy, nostalgic electric guitar thing. The best comparison I can think of is Pat Methany, but that doesn't really do the melody justice.

The other tracks are kind of spooky, japanese, circusy things. A little bit like stripped down Tom Waits (circa Black Rider) harmonium, and glittering high plinky koto, generally phantasmagorical with a touch of circus sleaze.

Yeah, I love that film too.

There are two composers: Urayama Hidehiko and Kumagaya Youko. I can't find any evidence they released a CD of this soundtrack.

Go to Amikai and paste the links in the box, check the righthand radio button, and hit the big return button on the right. These (or any other) Japanese web pages will be translated to English!
