Our new hero at ILM has got to be Siegbran Hetteson, who gave a vocal and info-laden overview of modern metal (in This Thread; and to celebrate gaving us such a "+5, Informative" post, I'd like to give anyone who wants to take a crack at it the opportunity to do the same.
The only rules are: a) You must eloquently offer the community information of great depth, obscurity and potency about a genre ILM generally doesn't tackle all that often. b) stop typing every 3 pages (we stull don't know how much will overload the system.)
You may begin your attack run.....nnnnnnow!

I'd offer to do one for contemporary heavy funk, but as far as I can tell the international scene consists of, like, five people, operating under several dozen pseudonyms. And whatever I did, it wouldn't be nearly as good as Siegbran's posts.

Thanks for drawing my attention to a thread I'd been avoiding; Siegbran Hetteson is amazing.

But this is the problem, Keiko. I suppose I could do the world's most involved study of the Porcupine Tree/No-Man family tree, but that's not a genre per se, and I've talked about shoegazers already. ;-)

Ned : You could reclassify it as a narrow genre.

I also suggest that as this thread dips below the horizon, anyone who wants to do a Siegbran now starts a new thread : "Siegbranized : My Genre"

Yeah. the opposite of an RFI...its an RFSWVGARA (Request for Someone Who Vaguely Gives a Rats Ass); I mean I'm sure we all have pet genres of which we are proud of the depths of our knowledge and would love to flex. Here's your chance, ILM Posse. Flex for us!
