I just spent a hellish weekend meeting my gf's mother and her needlessly aggressive husband. This is a CD that he put on in order to entertain us.

I thought sparks, but gf thought maggie may.

Gary Glitter fan eh?

Poll Wall (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 12 October 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

Having said that I might well vote "Angel Face" here.

See My Baby Jive (got to give respect to Roy Wood)

Needlessly aggressive husband.

He actually played this right the way through? including the Glitter?

Did he dance to it or try and make others dance?

Sounds horrible though.

Out of this lot I'd probably go for Sparks but the Slade track is also pretty wonderful. Chickory tip. Pilot and David Essex are all good songs...in fact about half of these are good.

Adam and the Ants seems, to me, to stick out here like a sore thumb.

Never spotted Wizzard. Love that track too.

Sven Hassel Schmuck, Sunday, 12 October 2008 20:11 (seventeen years ago)

adam and the ants, "glam rock"???

stone cold all time hall of fame classics (internet person), Sunday, 12 October 2008 20:11 (seventeen years ago)

I'm not that fond of either of the T Rex tracks on this one, or they'd obviously get my vote, but come on - THE SWEET. How can you not love it?

post-apocalyptic time jazz (Masonic Boom), Sunday, 12 October 2008 20:23 (seventeen years ago)

The Sweet track is probably my least favourite of their hits. Ruined by over-exposure. Hellraiser or Fox on the run, or even Teenage Rampage are all better.

Sven Hassel Schmuck, Sunday, 12 October 2008 20:28 (seventeen years ago)

Voted Sparks, but Bye Bye Baby is a damned good runner up.

He was aggressively trying to make everyone have fun. Yes, all the way through, including the Glitter. He tried to make us all get up and dance for track 2, but we were all sat down and behaving. By the time Can the Can got round tho we were all drunk enough to try and muster some enthusiasm for dancing, but we all sat down half way through when we all realised no-one's heart was really in it.

Pilot are hardly glam rock!

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Monday, 13 October 2008 09:33 (seventeen years ago)

Good track tho.

I voted for the Glitter Band, I guess I like "Pyjamarama" for but I figured the Glitter Band deserved at least 1 vote.

Poll Wall (Noodle Vague), Monday, 13 October 2008 09:35 (seventeen years ago)

"Pyjamarama" more, even.

Poll Wall (Noodle Vague), Monday, 13 October 2008 09:35 (seventeen years ago)

Glitter Band were great

A toss-up between Wizzard and Sparks for me, with T. Rex close behind. Voted Wizzard to balance out the likely Sparks win.

Telephone thing, Monday, 13 October 2008 11:24 (seventeen years ago)

Angel Face every time, but there is some good stuff here. It would have been even better with Rock n Roll part 2 on it.

Guilty_Boksen, Monday, 13 October 2008 12:46 (seventeen years ago)

Aw shit, I missed "Stand and Deliver"! Probably still would've gone with Wizzard, but it would've been an even tougher decision.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

You know, including Cockney Rebel and Sparks here is a bit unfair to the rest, as those aren't really glam and yet will obviously do very well in this poll. Voted Cockney Rebel.

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 18 October 2008 23:24 (seventeen years ago)

where the bowie at on this comp

Kevin Keller, Monday, 20 October 2008 00:56 (seventeen years ago)

I guess Copyright was the reason.
