After visiting other music forums I've found ILX has some of the most unique taste out there so I was curious what the average age for the forum was. I'm assuming most of the users are well over 30 based on the music taste but just to be sure I decided to make a poll. So then, what's your age?

The WDYLL threads are hardly a good indication as they are a totally self-selecting subgroup.

Could it be old people are too shy or sensible to put their pictures online?

Or could it be that only young folks are insecure enough to have to broadcast their self images to the world?

I understand that. Although I'm much happier now than in my twenties I am making a concerted effort at life changes to be sure that I'm not in the same exact place when I hit my mid-forties. Years seem to fly by the older you get.

But seriously, I think the poll was indeed unfair to people over 41. I should have topped the poll at 'over 50', I just thought that there weren't many ILX under 20 or over 40 to keep dissecting the demographic.

... which doesn't negate kerr's point, if what's happened is the mean age has decreased. (i don't know whether it has; i don't remember a time when ILX felt noticably dominated by older posters, but i'm a relative newcomer, i guess.)
