The first 2 EPs ended up on a Japanese compilation released in 1999. Youre right in stating they are the best stuff he ever did.
Thw Worst recorded an EP's worth of material in 1978. It was nearly released (Step forward) but shelved in the end.
It's really good.

I interpreted it more as "If they had stayed together for that long" or "If they had released an album already by then". And ABBA's 1983 album would definitely have been fantastic had they stayed together for long enough to make it.
