Kashmir

Stairway has lovely lyrics and is a radio fave and all but Kashmir is heavier and therefore wins.

They're both overplayed to death, but "Kashmir".

STH. just for the hell of it.

I prefer Stairway to Heaven. The opening verse or two are kinda boring, but once the drums kick in, it just gets better and better.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Sunday, 19 October 2008 17:16 (seventeen years ago)

kashmir 4 life

Stairway, but Bonham's drums on Kashmir are pretty great. I've almost never heard Zep on the radio. First time I did, was when I was working in a shop and All My Love came on. I ran into my slightly younger workmate in a quiet corner and told him that this was Led Zeppelin and he should listen hard because they were amazing. About ten seconds later JPJ's tootling solo started - he pissed himself laughing

Dude, "Get the Led Out"!

Got to be "Stairway". "Kashmir" may have been very groundbreaking, with its untraditional time signature and Arabian harmonies. But "Stairway To Heaven" is the best thing Led Zeppelin did.

Scam jam, thank you ma’am (Sparkle Motion), Thursday, 22 February 2018 02:47 (seven years ago)

Stairway's one of those songs that went from overrated to underrated over time. It's due for a revival.

Moodles, Thursday, 22 February 2018 02:50 (seven years ago)

Plant’s dream sequence in Song Remains is so cheesy

calstars, Thursday, 22 February 2018 03:20 (seven years ago)

I think this is Kashmir due to the dope strings on top of that gargantuan, tense riff

Stairway's still a great weed jam tho

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Thursday, 22 February 2018 03:35 (seven years ago)

I am not a fan of Kashmir

Stairway will always be wonderful

i first heard kashmir from the cheap seats at the nassau veterans memorial coliseum in 1975, which might have been the optimum time/place to have first heard it. so, kashmir.

Thus Sang Freud, Thursday, 22 February 2018 12:34 (seven years ago)

only one of these inspired a puff daddy banger on the godzilla soundtrack and it wasn't 'stairway'

Sam Weller, Thursday, 22 February 2018 14:14 (seven years ago)

A revival implies that it’s been out of the public eye or public discourse for some time, which just isn’t the case

calstars, Friday, 23 February 2018 21:25 (seven years ago)

i think they're talking about pitchfork readers or something
