Steely Dan's Pazz & Jop track record: second place in 1974, sixth place in 1975 and 1976, fifth place in 1977, twelfth place in 1980. They've always, always been a critics' band. This is nothing new.

In one of his podcast interviews for the In Utero box set, he mentioned watching a lot of episodic shows, though some of it may be stuff he just watches with his wife (i.e. it's something she wants to follow). I can't remember the shows though...maybe Peaky Blinders? I just remember it was stuff I knew of but hadn't seen.
