I always thought JOA was Janitors Of Anarchy, the old skate band. I downloaded a Joan of Arc song, apparantly, from Napster, thinking it was mislabeled or else the Janitors of Anarchy sure did get a lot prettier sounding. I like Joan of Arc, I guess. Is it all like the one song I downloaded: soft, flowing, upbeat indie pop with the occasional odd effect noise thrown in?

In my local HMV there appears to be a CD by a band called Joan of Arse, is this a misprint or a joke on behalf of HMV (which I doubt) or is there a band with such a name? Sorry, not heard Joan Of Arc...

Yes there is a band called Joan of Arse because I have had this exact conversation re. Joan of Arse? Is that not a nickname for Amerindie band Joan of Arc? But it isn't.

I've not heard them but Pitchfork really seems to hate them. Can anybody refute what Pitchfork writes about them?

Joan of Arc was crap. WHo cares that they broke up, that singer dude will keep peddling his whiny, self absorbed drivel on us through some other name. And I'll keep ignoring it. Anyway, no offense to the fellow (Mark, I think) here from Pitchforkmedia, but Pitchfork is a bunch of arse. Sometimes at least. Their "Journey to the center of Kid A" review/exegesis was awash with unending, unintended(?) hilarity.
