new gap ad = marmalade "i see the rain"

it made me upset and i don't know why exactly. maybe because the song is so great and the commercial is so dud.

Can anyone tell me who was singing on the track recently used to publicise the new morning t.v. show, RISE? It sounds like Daniel Johnston's voice, although the overall production seems a lot slicker than I would normally associate with this artist. It really is a very beautiful song.

Ha! That RI:SE commercial song was bothering me too after I spent 1 hr in a record shop where they had it on repeat (the song not the commercial) for the entire time. I was too embarrassed to ask what it was. I heard it again coming from the TV in a newagents as I walked home.

Which one? The one with Hopper and Ricchi? That's The Marmalade. (I put it on Filepile the other day, if anyone wants it). I've only seen it with the Marmalade track, though. It didn't sadden me, hearing it. I was actually shocked that something from the "Nuggets 2" box was in a commercial.

I saw another Gap ad with the Troggs, and that depressed me.
