I'm listening to this album for the first time and so far it's like the best pop i've heard all year.. And i'm only on track 4. I'm hoping there aren't any ballads.

Saw the TV ad for this yesterday. It is rather concerning that the two songs they used for advertising it were "Girls" and "She's Like A Star". Yes, the Taio Cruz single from a couple months ago. Apparently there's a version with the Sugababes on. And it's the second-most pushable track on the album. Hmm.

Pile of drivel.

British pop really is in its October 1984 revisited stage at the moment. The time of masterpieces like "The War Song," "Love's Great Adventure" and "Highly Strung" when everyone just seemed to give up at exactly the same time.

Do they mean us? They surely do! It's Ray Conniff! (Marcello Carlin), Friday, 31 October 2008 09:01 (seventeen years ago)

It really isn't good at all, from the terrible title downwards. Obsessed with the bloody sixties and having a sub-Hollyoaks Attitude instead of creating exciting and futuristic pop.

one of the ballads in the middle (not the hyped murder ballad, which isn't as clever as it thinks it is) is fairly immense, but that's a poor return on any album.

emma bunton must be bloody kicking herself that she was doing the 60s thing four years before anyone else! (and much better, too.)

Is the ballad you're thinking of "Sunday Rain"? It's the only song on the album I've listened to more than a few times. I don't understand why everyone at Popjustice loves "Every Heart Broken." Besides the lyrics, it's pretty bland.

I miss Mutya.
