I think I need to rewatch the movie again before I vote on this one.

caek, Thursday, 30 October 2008 01:32 (seventeen years ago)

I'd have gone for "Sweet Emotion" in a flash if it was in there.

But...Cherry bomb, Fox on the Run, Low Rider, Schools Out, Slow Ride, Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo all terrific, will have to think.

bidfurd, Thursday, 30 October 2008 01:45 (seventeen years ago)

"sweet emotion" was the best track in the movie. why was it not in the soundtrack?

Dan S, Thursday, 30 October 2008 02:07 (seventeen years ago)

hoochie-koo all the way

nonightsweats, Thursday, 30 October 2008 02:14 (seventeen years ago)

Almost went for Tush but went Fox on the Run.

Slow Ride is the Gtr Hero player vote right?

finally, a poll I can get behind. I loved this album intensely for about a year when I was about 14

I know, right?, Thursday, 30 October 2008 12:15 (seventeen years ago)

Slow Ride/Cherry Bomb

School's Out is an underrated candidate in the 'best riff ever' sweepstakes.

Sir, are you calling 911 to complain about traffic? (G00blar), Thursday, 30 October 2008 12:29 (seventeen years ago)

no more mr nice guy is my fav musical moment in the film.

mizzell, Thursday, 30 October 2008 13:44 (seventeen years ago)

Hmm, a poll Black Sabbath might win?

Mark G, Thursday, 30 October 2008 13:46 (seventeen years ago)

Never seen this, so voting purely on music, and Low Rider just nicks it.

Someone should do a Boogie Nights OST poll, that would be a little more difficult to choose.

Billy Dods, Thursday, 30 October 2008 13:47 (seventeen years ago)

haha, no. "School's Out" for me. could've been any of a dozen choices, though.

Ioannis, Thursday, 30 October 2008 13:49 (seventeen years ago)

er... xp

Slow Ride

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 30 October 2008 16:30 (seventeen years ago)

i always thought it sucked that they couldn't get "hurricane" by dylan for the soundtrack, esp. because that's my fav use of music in the film, the brief little scorcese/mean streets tribute when they walk into the pool hall.

i fucking love this movie so much.

Did "Cherry Bomb" REALLY get significnt Texan airplay in '76? Or did Linklater merely consider it the ideal accompaniment to a particular scene? (Haven't seen the film in years & can't recall the appropriate scene, if any.)

I've repped up for "Low Rider" and "Fox On The Run" in too damn many polls & threads over the years, so the forgotten "Jim Dandy" gets my vote.
