I listen to Steely Dan every single day and I'm still not tired of it!

So as someone who doesn't really know much about Steely Dan - their first 6 albums are available as a boxset "Citizen Dan", 66 tracks, currently £7.99 on iTunes.

Download y/n ?

Yeah, I got the box for $20 something off of iTunes. Worth every nickel.

Also, thanks Dan for starting this thread. I know that people some might be apprehensive of admitting their love for these smooth jazz progenitors, but if you listen to the lyrics, you'll find they are often ironically and grimly humorous!

I can't wait for the Becker-Fagen song about a certain Alaskan governor "who loves Israel like Joe Biden" and eats moose with her bare hands.

that's...a horrible idea.

I am now loving Steely Dan!

Admittedly I am just listening to "Do it again" on a loop, but I'll get round to the other 65 tracks soon.

Retrato Em Redd E Blecch (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 31 October 2008 14:02 (seventeen years ago)

is the 'adult orientated grunge' of Walter Becker's '11 tracks of whack' worth checking out?

Michael B, Friday, 31 October 2008 14:06 (seventeen years ago)

I've been wondering if I should delve into their various reunion albums - I think I heard the first one when it came out and wasn't super excited, but maybe I'll like it now.

Moodles, Friday, 31 October 2008 14:13 (seventeen years ago)

I decided last night that "Pandy Fackler" just might be my favorite Steely Dan song ever.

fifteen years pass...

Would have loved to have heard the result of a Becker / Fagen Ramones collaboration
