Hard to decide.

Some dick on YouTube asked if they were lovers, to which I said I didn't think so, however if they were I'd like to be the meat in *that* sandwich.

Oh no, Guadalajara won't do. (Kate.), Friday, 31 October 2008 00:51 (seventeen years ago)

if you ever saw him sing "Gaucho" it wouldn't be that hard

Zapp.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Friday, 31 October 2008 07:49 (seventeen years ago)

Voted Donald Fagen because his solo albums are way better than Walter Becker's. "Nighfly" is even better than any Steely Dan album.

Geir Hongro, Friday, 31 October 2008 09:33 (seventeen years ago)

I agree with Geir.

I've caught heat before for incorrectly calling Becker the Andrew Ridgely of Steely Dan, but I still say he's the Matt Stone.

Had to go with Fagan. They are probably both equally great, but Fagan's personality dominates, though probably that's just because he's the singer.

i'm leaning Fagen, because 1) voice 2) Nightfly (though I certainly would NOT agree that it's "even better than any Steely Dan album"). But I fear if you lose Becker you lose the gleeful cynicism that sucked me in.

this like asking, bread or butter?
But my answer is Fagen, for his delivery.
