All those David Bowie plays on Radio 2 are down to Jonathan Ross. Wonder how it'll look at the end of November now he's banned for three months?

^^^ wtf?

Thought the Cheeky Girls might make the Absolute Radio list.

Enrique (Raw Patrick), Friday, 7 November 2008 13:15 (seventeen years ago)

disappointingly i've only not heard of four of the radio 1 artists.

ledge, Friday, 7 November 2008 13:16 (seventeen years ago)

Radio 2's most played songs list is worse than Radio 1's still - has a starker like/hate divide, bigger gaps between songs in play count terms (shameful!)

note that Jennifer Hudson's 'Spotlight', a #11 hit as it stands, is missing from all lists

Cittaslow Mazza (blueski), Friday, 7 November 2008 13:17 (seventeen years ago)

(xxxpost) It's all about "Wichita Lineman". Older UKers imagine that's what the (geographical) middle of America sounds like. Guaranteed that it makes up the majority of those 83 plays.

snoball, Friday, 7 November 2008 13:18 (seventeen years ago)

I've heard In a broken dream by Python Lee jackson 3 times on radio 2 in the last fortnight.

Glen Campbell plays seem to be mainly the latest album which isn't any good really. Wichita lineman could be played 83 times in a row for me and I still wouldn't switch channels.

But nothing really jumps out there as being remarkable... except, maybe, the number of plays for Pendulum and Dolly Parton on their respective stations.

Sven Hassel Schmuck, Friday, 7 November 2008 13:19 (seventeen years ago)

In my dads car I've heard Glen Campbell's version of a green day song a good few times on Radio 2.
