RFD: Big Wreck - "That Tune"

Can we talk about this song? I think it's kinda neat how it starts out with ringing chorus guitars and you think it's a new Cure song or something but then it's like they're the sparkle off a newly washed man's van not moonlight reflecting off an ivy-drenched fountain, you know? 'Cause he's singing and he can sort of make that Vedder bellow deep and penetrating and goth in one way if you squint right but more than that it's also just roaring and skidding and dirt roads and racing away somewhere despite being some loser young guy and sucking and knowing it. And then you're veering backwards as the beat changes in this monster Queensryche-Winger-emo chorus. When the whole thing's supposed to end, he gets all hobo and wistful and falsetto and starts reminiscing about "that tune" like some power-of-rock cheeseball who's not supposed to exist anymore and sure enough, a total van-rock riff comes in, produced all sparkly, and introduces a whole new thing into the thing.

i must admit, this song is a guilty pleasure of mine and some of my friends. We tend to bust it out when we're drunk.

I haven't heard "That Song" in years. My friends and I used to dis Big Wreck but nobody ever changed the channel when that video was on. Good tune.
