I'll preface that this can include stuff not typically considered 'metal' by us more rabid fans (ie, nu-metal).
So the other night, I was at this karaoke bar, and this dude decides to sing "Bodies" by Drowning Pool, and he's screaming and yelling and these dumbasses are all faux-moshing in the front as if it was the most aggressive song ever and not merely a pop song that just happened to have heavy guitars.
Lot of effort put into the lyrics too. "Can't take much more", "1 nothing wrong with me, 2 nothing wrong with me, 3 nothing wrong with me, 4 nothing wrong with me".
So that receives my nomination without hesitation.

and actually, american soldiers in iraq reclaiming Drowning Pool's "Bodies" as pump-up anthem is probably way worse than Bo Jackson Overdrive having to hear it in a karaoke bar

Pantera cop a lot over their hair metal origins, but they always kept a touch of that LA glam swagger in their heaviest stuff and it really suited them.

Watching Lars Ulrich get excited and drink expensive champagne because he sold a Basquiat for 5 million dollars. Yeah, real metal dude.

that entire movie counts as a 'worst moment', i think
especially all the marketing and advertising execs discussing the album title: 'the day of the release can be ST ANGER'S DAY!' ugh
