They're all here. Peel obviously rules, and Westwood for comedy value.
"This is big....Westwood has entered the building."

"Wasn't that just magical? That was the new single by Boards of Canada. We'll have to get them on to do a session at some point"
or
"Well it's a repetitive beat - but it's a wonderful one at that!"
Ugh! Then she starts dressing in leather and trying to pass herself off as an authority on Heavy Metal. Ridiculous. My gran could do better.

Peel is a fucking bore, and he doesn't play 'cutting edge' material, he plays indie bullshit.
Steve lamcq (is that how it is spelt?) sounds OK but plays shit records. Same for Mary Anne and mark and lard. The rest are rubbish on all counts.

Admittedly Irish radio is so dire that I may have less discriminating taste than any of you, but I listen to her show every morning and find it pleasant enough. Obviously it goes good tune bad tune but that's to be expected on radio really.

Do people really enjoy listening to 5 minutes of fucking blather in between songs? Mrs V likes to have Radio 1 on sometimes but it drives me demented - it's supposed to be music radio. I don't care what C-list shite the DJ's been to see this weekend. I don't care where Dave in Droitwich is going clubbing this weekend. I just want to hear a bunch of records with the smallest possible gap in between them. What the fuck is the attraction of this fuckery?

Gilles Peterson is still good value.

If the official Radio 1 fb page is anything to go by, at least 800 000 people really like the inane banter between songs. The various DJs make like 20 updates every day that fall under the 'blather' category but they all get comments.
