How Much is Too Much?: Repetition, Repetition, Repetition.

How many times can the singer repeat the same line of lyric before you think he's being an unimaginitive bore? Does it ever really irk the shit out of you when some luuuuser band makes a song that essentially nothing but a lukewarm catchphrase repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?
Who do you think deserves the Zack De La Rocha award for most monotonous lyrics?

Mystery Bonus Question: Has any of the DJs out there ever cut off a song just because you already knew that half the song is just the chorus repeated over and over and over and over and over and over again, and you just wanted to get to the next song?
New answers please...or at least old answers repeated no more than once.

The Beautiful South - see Rotterdam. I'm sure that's just a verse and chorus repeated with no bridge or lyrical variation. They pretty much did this with all the songs I've heard by them, save maybe A Little Time which has no chorus but just a story with the same verse structure over and over again. Very clever pop trickery because those who tune into the radio get that bit stuck in their heads forever and as soon as you tune in you know what song it is. Sadly, for those of us who give a shit about decent music, this really sucks.

George Harrison's "I've Got My Mind Set On You"... repeated 61 times I think?

Alan Braxe & DJ Falcon - "Together". Monotony in French filterhouse taken to new extremes.

Which led to the obvious Weird Al parody: "This Song Is Six Words Long".

I seem to recall reading a one sentence review of Phil Collins' "One More Night" that went "Phil Collins repeats the line 'one more night' seventy-one times"
