Say did that Freaky Trigger special all-Streets edition happen and if so can someone provide the link? I've finally gotten the album and am rapidly becoming obsessed.

Aha! You have fallen under their spell, nicely done. Or his spell or whatever. The issue has yet to surface, but Tom will have more info.

Nobody has written their article yet!! I dont know now if there'll be a 'special' - but I intend to finish mine (I've been researching) and certainly I'll run any that I do get - just not together, probably.

A big FT update's just gone up mind you - no Streets though.

I was late getting on the trolley, but now I have the album I must say it is as good as everyone said.

Strings on the opening track=everything Eminem wishes he could conjure. This album is almost painfully postmodern: takes the piss out of itself every couple of seconds. When he thanks Paul Oakenfold & the others who "gave us these times" it's so touching it almost makes me wish I had some love for Oakenfold. Almost.

My article, if I ever finish it, is all about the next line after that one!

haha, god we suck. (and i left the cd in washington along with my notes, so i'll have to have them mailed to me.)

Wow, I got the CD the other day after hearing so much buzz 'round these parts, and I'm becoming obsessed, too. First listen was weird - almost like watching a foreign film. An accent which for me has no connotations - hanging on the tone of his voice rather than his words, trying to grasp his flow, which is clearly there, just not what *I'm* used to, being a child of US hip-hop. Plus, I have heard pretty much zilch garage, so the beats took a little getting- accustomed-to. The song about the girl almost makes me cry, and the jokey songs don't even bother me. It's nice to have an album that disorients me; Original Pirate Material has disoriented me far more than any noise CD or microhouse comp (although I've picked up some great ones lately) has in ages, and I *always* welcome that. Now, if only I could find that damn Gorguts CD...

Jess, I have your article! I will mail it to you with many corrections! (Because, you know, my red pen is a frisky little bastard.)

y'all wait til u hear the 'weak become...' ashley beadle remix. tears-to-the-eyes brilliance.

Ashley Beadle is a man for whom I have nothing but respect and I will seek out that mix.

I'm glad Clarke said the song about the girl nearly made him cry, I now don't feel so ashamed.

I will happily write an article as soon as someone comes up with an interesting topic for me (apart from "The Streets", natch). Doing a straight review seems a bit silly for a multi-article special, but I've yet to come up with a good angle.

Will you hurry up already?
