Mclusky vs. Beachbuggy

I've been trying to decide this one lately, since I've been listening to a lot of both bands.

Both have a ton of Pixies in their dna, but ultimately transcend that influence.
Both had three albums.
Both had Steve Albini produce.

Mclusky's highs are probably higher, but Beachbuggy much more consistant. A one disc Mclusky best-of beats a hypothetical Beachbuggy best-of, but I'd listen to a full Beachbuggy album before a full Mclusky one.

I wonder if enough people know both bands to get a meaningful answer!

this. also beachbuggy seem a bit more overtly tongue in cheek, although i think both bands have a good sense of humour

the pixies influence in BB is a bit much at times

i would imagine the live show would be the tiebreaker, but i have no experience of either

I have all McLusky but only 'Sport Fury' by Beachbuggy so my POV is skewed, but it's McLusky by a long way for me.

Although BB's 'Bad Guys Wear Black', 'Touch My Stuff (You Can Die') and 'From The South' is as good a 1,2,3 knock-out punch as I've ever come across.

i would rate the albums as sport fury > dallas > unsafe at any speed > pain and sadness > killer b

i have not heard the third mclusky album

i would recommend them to you but i'm not sure you'd be terribly receptive?
