re: the captain beefheart answer - au contraire! i HUGELY respect any artist who recognises a sell by date or any new recording would be lacklustre. i'd much rather wait for something extraordinary - "tilt" springs to mind - than paddle through substandard pish. any artist who recognises that they don't have to hurry out material is good in my bok. and also beefheart realising that he has nothing more he feels he has or wants to say. all power to him...

24. Larmousse - no news on the follow up album.

26. Lengsel - superb atmospheric dark metal band from Norway, been working on a new album - no news of a release date.

27. Zan Lyons - It has been over two years since Desolate, but at least Zan is back in the limelight he is DJing in London in June.

dyson, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Alton Clarke...since the breakup of depressed poets in 1997, he has promised some sort of solo release, but hasn't delivered a thing except some covers of Marley's Redemption Song and Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind from respective tribute discs. And the one original he has put out, Not Like Me, was a misfortunate attempt at alt-rock on a lame soundtrack for some teenypopper movie.

At least I do have something to look forward to with the forthcoming "Picture Book" by James Hargraves (formerly of Sadie Love) that is expected sometime later this summer.

Bark Psychosis - News

From electroambientdreampop the latest news on Bark Psychosis:

Vinita from Rocket Girl is saying that the new Bark Psychosis album
should see light "early next year" and is no longer called
dirtsucker.. the new name is "Smoke and Bone"
the album is only Graham Sutton, not the whole original line-up, but
sounds like a BP album, and is very good (well, thats what Vinita
told me)

The is also a new Bark Psychosis live album called "Replay" on the
Horizion from Third Stone..

it wasnt clear who would be releasing "smoke and bone" but it wont be
parlaphone, whom were suppossed to release "dirtsucker"

[the dirtsucker should ofcourse be dustsucker]

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 26 September 2002 12:40 (twenty-three years ago)

The news is slowly spreading: Musique Machine mentioned Killing Joke plan to release new album 2003.

Those ignorant twerps at the NME don't mention Bark Psychosis and Killing Joke. Instead they prefer bullshit no talent bands such as The Libertines and The Datsuns.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Thursday, 26 September 2002 12:45 (twenty-three years ago)

29. Medicine (Regal Records) - debut album sometime this year - this is a house genre artist not the 90s alternative band Medicine !

their album "iron stylings" was released last week. they're called medicine8 now so that may have thrown ya.
