Oh well. My last posting on free music didn't get as much response as I hoped :-(
I'm still looking for a way to find out about free music. And I realized a community like ILM might be able to do something about it.
So I'm looking for volunteers. Basically, we have a lot of people here. What I'm suggesting is anyone who's interested in joining in goes to MP3.com (or other free music site of your choice), listens to 10 bands in a category, decides which is the best and posts to this thread :
a) the name of the category,
b) the names of the 10 bands,
c) the name of the best
yeah, it's totally quick, dirty, subjective etc. etc. but what isn't?
yeah, it's a drop in the ocean.
But if enough people have a go, we'll start to have a sketch-map from which to explore MP3.com. And you guys love music (right?) so it shouldn't be that much of a chore.

the best band i ever discovered on the old mp3.com was moonbabies. there were a couple of other good ones but i can't remember them now..
