What about the Word Song? I always found that one quite mysterious. I guess I'll vote for Opel.

Zelda Zonk, Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:47 (seventeen years ago)

OK, so this is from the compilation which misses out "No Man's Land", "Feel" etc? Bah!

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:50 (seventeen years ago)

And "Rats"!!!!!!!!

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:50 (seventeen years ago)

it comes down to dark globe/no good trying/late night

Zeno, Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:51 (seventeen years ago)

so dark globe it will be

Zeno, Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:51 (seventeen years ago)

No Good Trying

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE UP TO (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:51 (seventeen years ago)

"Wolfpack" for me

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:51 (seventeen years ago)

no good trying is awesome, but its kinda cut in the middel for the (too) long instrumental ending.
i wish barrett sing more on that track

Zeno, Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:53 (seventeen years ago)

I voted "Opel", for the simple reason that if the producer(s) had not forgotten that this track existed, they'd havee got the Softs (or the floyds) to work on it and make it wonderful.

Mark G, Thursday, 20 November 2008 10:54 (seventeen years ago)

Wouldn't You Miss Me (Dark Globe) walks this for me. It's even more harrowing than the original version.

Guilty_Boksen, Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:30 (seventeen years ago)

Jesus, people. It's always always always "Gigolo Aunt".

My Lovely HOOS (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:40 (seventeen years ago)

Funnily enough, one of my least favourite Syd Barrett tracks

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:41 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's my usual "a few instruments = better than lone dude with guitar" prejudice.

My Lovely HOOS (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:45 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah but the instruments are a bit too ploddy 70s Floyd for my liking

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:47 (seventeen years ago)

I like the Peel Session version best, the organ is great. But I like the way all of the versions lope and stumble. I find the loping and stumbling with a band a sight more endearing than when he does it solo.

My Lovely HOOS (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:48 (seventeen years ago)

If I was being totes honest I shd probly have voted for "Effervescing Elephant".

My Lovely HOOS (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 20 November 2008 13:49 (seventeen years ago)

The first Syd I ever heard was "Love You" on John Peel. and not John Pele as I almost mistyped.

Oh, it's not on here. Daft.

I will not vote in a poll that doesn't include "Rats."

very hard choice for me, mainly between Dark Globe and Opel - I sing the former to myself more, but the Opel's coda is just breathtaking

J0hn D., Monday, 24 November 2008 03:12 (seventeen years ago)

I guess Scream Thy Last Scream was really an unreleased Pink song, so not eligible for this poll?

moley, Monday, 24 November 2008 03:37 (seventeen years ago)

Nobody else will vote for "Bob Dylan's Blues" so I will.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 24 November 2008 03:51 (seventeen years ago)

Scream and Vegetable man were both recorded as Pink Floyd.

dan selzer, Monday, 24 November 2008 04:23 (seventeen years ago)

OK, then for me it's Baby Lemonade.

I did a sensible poll title for the Kinks album box set, and got very little responses.

This thread title is vaguely satirical.

But anyway, thanks.

Mark G, Monday, 24 November 2008 09:43 (seventeen years ago)

;)

voted opel

craig sager (eman), Monday, 24 November 2008 17:03 (seventeen years ago)
