Kate Bush

"Running Up That Hill". But this is by far the weakest of the four. The late 80s were horrible.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 26 November 2008 09:49 (seventeen years ago)

Suicidal Tendencies, easy.

Our Secret felt the most unprecedented, like access to a hidden world.

Monkey you dumbasses

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 26 November 2008 22:29 (seventeen years ago)

At least three tracks on Doolittle would win this, but not "Monkey."

I agree this is the weakest of the four (though still great!) and though I will perhaps be alone I've chosen "World Shut Your Mouth" -- representing as it does a kind of peak of askew pop that sounded exactly like it could chart, but didn't.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Wednesday, 26 November 2008 22:38 (seventeen years ago)

Bauhaus.

Yeah, it might be my least favorite track on Doolittle (besides Silver, which is everyone's least favorite).

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 27 November 2008 00:26 (seventeen years ago)

i just heard "Monkey Gone To Heaven" on indie103.1 and it sounded great.

Bee OK, Friday, 28 November 2008 23:27 (seventeen years ago)

What a crazy mix of tunes. There are way better songs on there, but Moving to Florida has a particular kind of madness that I got completely obsessed with for a time. I didn't have the song for a while and could get busted up laughing trying to describe it to someone.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Yeah, the bit in Moving to Florida where they suddenly transform into the Smiths made my jaw drop when I first heard it.

bendy, Sunday, 30 November 2008 02:46 (seventeen years ago)

I mean, you can find a song that sounds a little bit like every single track on that list...

...except for Moving To Florida. Probably one of the most inspired songs in the history of the world.

dlp9001, Sunday, 30 November 2008 03:39 (seventeen years ago)

Best of a very odd series. Bauhaus.

Soukesian, Sunday, 30 November 2008 09:17 (seventeen years ago)

Bauhaus, easily.
