Ozzy's 60 today. Currently rocking the old (original rhythm tracks) remaster of Blizzard, which I picked up a few weeks back and am finally getting around to listening to. Still forming an opinion as to which is the better album (aside from the hits, they're both relatively new to me), but I will say that "Over The Mountain"/"Flying High Again">>>>>"I Don't Know"/"Crazy Train". What say you? And BTW, how's Tribute?

the re-recorded rhythm track bullshit with these albums is unconscionable. I can't really remember Blizzard (hey I bet Ozzy can't either!) so I'm going with Diary.

Blizzard easy

Blizzard all the way - Mr. Crowley was my jam in Jr. High - Rhodes, Daisley (on Gongs too!), and Kerslake were the best Ozzy band save the Sabs...

I can't listen to those re-recordings, they ruined two classic albums. But if you can track down the 1995 remasters (with the covers posted above), Diary is a little bit superior. "Believer" is my favourite Ozzy track.

Tribute has heavily overdubbed vocals, but is still a good live album.

I would never listen to the re-recordings. I need to dig out my Blizzard vinyl

Blizzard vinyl spinning now for lunchtime ... I always thought the production was a bit lacking in this - Randy needs to be waaayyy louder.

It's Blizzard-and what a fuckup those re-recordings are.

Even the re-recorded vibra-slap on "Crazy Train" sounds so horribly wrong.

seven years pass...

Blizzard of Ozz, easily, which still sounds amazingly fresh to me even though I've heard 'Crazy Train' about a million times at this stage. Both albums are fantastic, though.

My god, did Daisley and Kerslake get repeatedly shafted on these releases, though.

six months pass...

if you are confused by any of the above, the 30th anniversary deluxe reissues restore the parts that had been re-recorded previously. so. a footnote in ozzyology.
