The worst album I possess is called "Maori Songs of New Zealand" and subtitled "23 traditional Maori favourites".

I bought it because I thought I was getting an exotic piece of authentic ethnic / world music. However, it seems like Maori culture has been nobled by nineteenth century missionaries and evangelical pseudo-folk infected by 50s rock'n'roll harmonies. Strum-along-guitar and shouting choruses. Imagine the worst African music you heard, now imagine it 100 times blander.

Oh god ... now I'm listening to it in an effort to describe it and finding it interestingly bad ... aaargh!

I'll also add that "Bass Party" by the "Def Bass Krew" is pretty bad too. Now I'm wondering what would happen if I made a bootleg putting them both together.

Probably the universe would end or some shit. Ha ha hah ahah eheheh ha!!

Worst I kept was Gangsta Boo's cd, its got such lovely masterpieces as "Suck A Little Dick" and "Nasty Trick". Worst I ever heard was some Canadian child band styled after The Moffats by a competting major label, we threw it out the window, someone walking by the office at school brought it in cause she recognized it as a promo copy, we then duct tapes it to a ceiling beam, it fell down the next day to the floor where someone picked it and placed it on my desk not knowing we had already had enough of it so we raided to neighbouring office for super glue and glued the fucker to the ceiling where it is still today three years later.
That was the easy part of the question. Im not sure I could tell you the best, it changes on my mood, but usually Zen Arcade or Loveless and somedays even Nation of Millions.

the best, uh, that's real difficult. i'm going to say amon tobin's bricolage, but in an hour it may be something else.

malhavoc
Shudder, let us never speak of them again.

I have a Uri Geller album. It cost me 25p and has a gatefold sleeve with the lyrics printed. They're all along the lines of "Deep, dark velvet space / I am floating there", like an idiot's sixth form poetry. He recites them over spacey music, except on one where he sings. One is about bending spoons.

You can decide if that's a best or worst entry.

The worst album I own would be Dr. Jack Van Impe's "The Coming Russian Invasion" or something to that extent. I am not sure if he is local or not, but Jack Van Impe is one of those revelation style televangelists who has made a career of at least three decades by telling people that the current fear in the nations collective unconscious was written about in Revelations and that the world is going to end. What is interesting is that he used to preach about how the Soviet Union was going to be the end of the world, then in the 90's he switched over to the UN and now "the new world order" is the surefire sign of the apocalypse.

At the moment, the best album I own would be Piercing Music by Robert Henke.

Best... probably "The Blackened Air" by Nina Nastasia.

Worst - I'd hesitate to say I own it, because I was given it, but by a few clear miles it's "What We Did Last Summer" by The Supernaturals. Though Autonomy's self titled album runs it severely close.

Worst album I own: some cheesy boring "Trip Hop and Acid Jazz" compilation that I only bought because the Norman Cook remix of Jean- Jacques Perrey's "EVA" was on it. The rest is duller than a bowling ball, albeit not as weighty. And I can't sell it 'cos it's scuffed.
The best album? I'd say London Calling and Fun House and The Cold Vein just to needle Mark and Julio and Ethan all at once but instead I really gotta go with the James Brown Star Time box set, seeing as how it's one of the greatest bodies of work of the 20th century and all.

I don't have best/worst records. They are all my precious babies and I like to love them equally.
