what are you getting before it gets sued out of existence?

in particular, what out of print/never released records should i track down? i remember being v pissed off when napster died and a week later i wanted to hear la monte young's well-tuned piano, and i want to try to avoid that happening again.

Lots of Hip Hop. And I do mean LOTS of it. Also lots of *crap* Pop.

wheres the news on audiogalaxy?

Chris, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

well. if, for instance, you type in madonna - you can't get *anything* at all. it's started.

another one bites the dust huh. so what makes winmx so different from all the others, why no lawsuits on them yet? no centralized server?

Chris, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is winmx part of the gnutella network or is it similar but different? yeah, they're decentralized. The RIAA will probably go after the big ISPs when they're done with AG. I heard the news here. That Verizon plan sounds interesting.

Yeah but this has been the case for ages. Try entering the most distinctive part of the song title instead.

i was trying for that 30-fucks-in-a-minute bit from the radio 1 wemberley show in 1990. was there yesterday. gone now.

piscesboy, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That verizon plan does sound nice. No matter what the RIAA does someone will always one up them anyways and come out with a new way to share music.

right. until they sue enough ISPs to terrify them into blocking all ports but 80 and 25. and the ISPs all decide to ban file-sharing apps in general.

*oul*eek (name withheld to protect Soulseek) seems still untouched. Very Napsterish interface with an excellent range of songs. Plus, chatrooms that work, queue positions, etc.

Funniest thing I've read all day!

winmx is the worst filesharing thing i've encountered yet. all the faults of napster + slower.

one month passes...
yes *oul*ee* is the answer. the right heir to replace Audiogalaxy.
