Somewhat weaker overall, but it contains my favourite classic Motown moment: "Reach Out I'll Be There", so that's where my vote goes.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 10 December 2008 14:48 (sixteen years ago)

that would be your favorite

^this (lol, grateful dead), tho i have a feeling that this is where my streak of #1s comes to an end

Whenever any version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is on a list, I vote for that.

That's a great great great list, at least as great as the first two CDs. "Reach Out."

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Wednesday, 10 December 2008 16:41 (sixteen years ago)

Gladys' "Grapevine" on there twice? Is the second one supposed to be Marvin?

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 10 December 2008 16:49 (sixteen years ago)

Most impossiblest poll ever. "Reach Out" should and probably will win, but since I have a soft spot for "My Whole World Ended," that's getting my vote.

"Bernadette." God, that bass line.

Emergency Rainbow (Pancakes Hackman), Wednesday, 10 December 2008 17:18 (sixteen years ago)

That's what I'm going for- the most charging of all the charging horse James Jamerson/Four Tops/HDH basslines.

Ruudside Picnic (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 10 December 2008 18:51 (sixteen years ago)

Reach out I'll be there

I wish it would rain. Because rain drops will hide my tear drops, and no one will ever know that I'm crying. I know to you it might sound strange, but I wish it would rain.

The Miracles and the Four Tops are at their peaks here, but this is the one time that the Temptations hit me just right. Along with "Just My Imagination", my favorite Temptations song.

Gladys Knight kicks butt.

u s steel, Thursday, 11 December 2008 05:48 (sixteen years ago)

where are you getting these tracklists??

miss precious perfect (musically), Thursday, 11 December 2008 05:57 (sixteen years ago)

i think everyone will figure out that love child is not diana solo and that ain't nothing like the real thing is a duet with tammi terrell, but the second version of grapevine on the album is marvin gaye's, and it probably would have won the poll.

Must be a typo in the tracklisting I copy'n'pasted.
