Here's how it goes: I'm a genius, I mean this

Seanadams Molloy (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Thursday, 11 December 2008 15:10 (sixteen years ago)

hard to go against "put lead in your ass and drink a cup of tea", but I'm going with Smooth B

Granny Dainger, Thursday, 11 December 2008 15:13 (sixteen years ago)

"I wanna get blunted my brother" wins every time for me.

Just love Smooth B's voice the most I think.

premo shoulda dropped Guru and worked more with Nice n Smooth once he heard these results

Granny Dainger, Thursday, 11 December 2008 16:20 (sixteen years ago)

Greg Nice is totally my favorite rapper of the 3, but Guru's is the easily the best verse

Guru. C'mon fellas, Guru was never the best MC in the world, but Nice N Smooth were a one trick pony even on their best day, and "Dwyck" certainly was that day. "You could say I'm sorta thee boss, so get lost..."

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Thursday, 11 December 2008 18:43 (sixteen years ago)

fu

ice cr?m, Thursday, 11 December 2008 18:47 (sixteen years ago)

Greg Nice = lost without the 'echo' gimmick
Smooth B = Actually, just a terrible MC all around. Sorry, but in a world of Rakims, KRSs, even Dels, Smooth B always sounded incredibly wack to me.

That said, his verse on Dwyck - somehow classic. Maybe it was because it was a freestyle?

and whataburger (gabbneb), Thursday, 11 December 2008 18:57 (sixteen years ago)

this is not a poll on how many tricks these ponies have, it's about who had the best verse on this song.

Granny Dainger, Thursday, 11 December 2008 19:01 (sixteen years ago)

Still, Guru.

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Thursday, 11 December 2008 19:02 (sixteen years ago)

"lemonade was a popular drink and it still is"

^^^ example of guru's lines from this song

dmr, Thursday, 11 December 2008 19:55 (sixteen years ago)

Uh, that's a great lyric. Just ask Chi-Ali.

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Thursday, 11 December 2008 20:00 (sixteen years ago)

that's like, i can take a bar to do that greg nice shit, and then go back to killing everyone else on the track

Mr. ¿Qué (gabbneb), Thursday, 11 December 2008 20:07 (sixteen years ago)

seriously every line of smooth b's is good, whereas greg nice has ones like "you say butter i say parkay".

Granny Dainger, Thursday, 11 December 2008 20:09 (sixteen years ago)

this thread is a huge gigantic failure btw

Ain't A Damn Thing Changed is not exactly a hip hop classic, you know.

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Thursday, 11 December 2008 20:59 (sixteen years ago)

what i meant: there are tons and tons of Premo tracks with better traditional serious rapping is serious than Guru and Smooth B on "DWYCK," but I can't think of any with a verse as fun and off the wall as Greg Nice, and if he didn't kick that silly flow at the top of the song we probably wouldn't be making poll threads about it 14 years later.

Anne Dwutt (some dude), Thursday, 11 December 2008 21:05 (sixteen years ago)

Hmmm...you may be right about that last point. The whole "has go to be the sure shot" intro shit is kinda key...

one year passes...

People gave so much grief to Guru for the lemonade line, but I think Greg Nice saying "Classius Clay" is far more egregious.
